David Street Station Turns 3! Celebrating Three Years of Casper Coming Together

Since 2017, David Street Station (DSS) has been proud to be the central gathering place for our Casper community and its visitors. From the outdoor ice rink and community Christmas tree during the winter, to the summer nights filled with concerts, festivals, movies, and more, we are excited to look back on our last three years of operations and highlight those who helped us get where we are today.

Where It All Began

As early as 2013, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Board had a vision for Casper’s downtown that would create generational change. This board, comprised entirely of volunteers, wanted to bring businesses, jobs and economic stimulus to the entire city via downtown growth by providing free activities for families in Casper. DSS was developed as a central outdoor gathering place for Casper, with events and activities hosted here year-round. And admission would always be free.

By mid 2017, David Street Station had completed phase 1 consisting of the:

• Brian Scott Gamroth Community Stage
• Bill Daniels Lawn
• Busker station for small performances

Following in phase 2 with a completion in June 2018, the additional amenities were added:

• Hilltop Bank Splash Pad
• Ice Rink
• Fred Goodstein Overlook deck
• Restrooms

Put it all together, and David Street Station became the place for families and friends to come and enjoy being outside year-round. There are three groups of people who we could not have done this without: our donors, ambassadors, and of course our Casper community!

DONORS

DSS is 100% privately funded, and we are so thankful for the generosity of our donors. From the inception of DSS to now, DSS relies on the support and sponsorship of businesses, organizations, and families for our continued success. Donations big and small make an immense difference in helping us continue our mission.

If you are interested in assisting with DSS through donation, learn more about our Partners in Progress and Friend of the Station programs. You will help David Street Station continue our mission and provide more free events for the years to come!

AMBASSADORS

Our ambassadors are volunteers who have stepped in whenever we need a helping hand whether it be serving beer, running the craft table for kiddos at events, or cleaning up the station in between events. By providing different types of support to the David Street Station staff, our ambassadors have become a critical part of our operations. If you enjoy getting involved in your community, we would love for you to join us!

COMMUNITY

With a following of 11K+ on our social media, and thousands of visitors throughout the year, the community support has been a staple in our success. DSS was built for the community, by the community, and that is something to be proud of.

At David Street Station, we would like to thank our community for being part of our journey over the last three years, and we look forward to the future to continue being the place #WhereCasperComesTogether.
