First Community Christmas Tree Installed at David Street Station

The first-ever community Christmas tree has made the journey to David Street Station this morning.

Volunteers from Rodolph Brothers Tree & Landscaping removed the 50-foot Colorado blue spruce from it’s Mills home of some 60-years early Tuesday morning.

All 3,000 lbs of tree was transported by flatbed to David Street Station, where it was carefully lifted by crane and placed on a base in the plaza. It is held up by four guy wires.

The tree will be decorated with ornaments and white lights starting at 9:00 on Wednesday morning. A lighting ceremony is scheduled for 4:00 on Saturday before the annual downtown Christmas parade.
