No Halloween would be complete without a costume parade and contest, and that’s why we’re bringing ours back again this year. On October 27, you will want to bring your best, scariest, cutest and most creative costume clad selves, family, and friends downtown. From 10 am to noon, the downtown merchants will be handing out candy to children from the doors of their businesses. Then, at 1 pm, we will start gathering for the parade at David Street Station. The parade will begin at 1:30 and winners of the costume contest will be announced as they walk across the Brian Scott Gamroth Community Stage. The costume contest is for everyone with categories including groups, duos, 13+, 7-12, and, 6 and under. Prizes will go to the recipient(s) of the best costume in each category as determined by the cheer meter. Pick up some food from local downtown restaurants and settle in to the Station to see all the costumes from sweet to scary on this fall afternoon.

Games including Witches Hat Ring Toss, Monster Bowling, Pin the Bow Tie on the Skeleton, cornhole and many more will be out for all to enjoy. From 2:15-2:45 Rising Star Tumbling & Dance Studio will be teaching kids and parents the spooky moves to Thriller and Monster Mash. The festivities will end at 3:00pm, but rest assured downtown will be hopping.

Following the costume contest, head over to the Science Zone to get in on their annual trick-or-treat trail.
