Volunteers Work Behind the Scenes to Make Each Event Happen

At David Street Station, we rely on the help of our AMBASSADORS to setup, provide support during, and help to clean up after each event. AMBASSADORS of David Street Station, our awesome group of volunteers, are critical to the operations and success of the facility and our events. AMBASSADORS provide many different types of support to the David Street Station staff including onsite assistance and facility upkeep.

We love our AMBASSADORS so much that we wanted to shine the spotlight on them to tell everyone why they are so amazing.

Paul is just one of our many dedicated volunteers and we are so thankful that he chooses to spend his free time with us; volunteering his time and talents to make sure each event goes off without a hitch! Read on to find out why Paul chose to become an AMBASSADOR. What made you decide to volunteer at David Street Station?

My wife and I have recently moved back to Casper after four years of traveling. David Street Station was built while we were gone. I was so impressed with David Street Station and what Casper did with the area that I wanted to be a part of it to help promote community spirit.

What is the best part about volunteering at David Street Station?

The best part of volunteering is interacting with all the different people and seeing the families that attend the events and enjoying the facilities. I’ve seen old friends that I haven’t seen in over a decade. I’ve met people from all over the U.S. and various places around the world including Germany, England, Ecuador and Japan.

The best events to work at are ones that have live music so I can help out and enjoy the music at the same time.

What are some of your responsibilities as an AMBASSADOR?

Any task that is needed to help set up or clean up, such as setting up tents or yard games or helping to put them away and cleaning up the Station. During the event I generally help with ID checks.

What would you say to someone that is thinking of becoming and AMBASSADOR?

I would highly recommend David Street Station as a place to volunteer. Jackie has managed to put together a great group of people to work with including Julie, Abbey and all the other Event Support Staff that help out. It is extremely easy to sign up as an AMBASSADOR. Volunteers are offered many choices on dates and times that work best with their schedules so that everyone can help as little or as much as they can.
