Sweet, Sweet Summertime

Break out the sunscreen, flip-flops, and swimsuits! You may not feel it with this weather we’ve been having, but summer is right around the corner and we are gearing up for a fun-filled season!

On May 1st we revealed our summer calendar packed with events nearly every day of the week. We hope you’ve penciled in your favorites because we are excited to see you at David Street Station! On June 1st, the Hilltop Bank Splash Pad opens for the season and kicks off an entertainment filled schedule.

The Hilltop Bank Splash Pad will be open each day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. This centerpiece of David Street Station is free for all to use and we love seeing friends and families enjoy it throughout the summer.

The first week of June will give you a taste of things to come as the sun starts to heat things up. On Tuesday evenings, the Food for Thought Summer Markets, generously sponsored by WCDA, return with locally made products and produce.  Then, Art Walk will be back Thursday, June 6th, featuring live music and local art. Sail into the weekend with the wildly popular Cinema at the Station on June 7th. We’ll be showing Moana at 7:00 pm, so bring your blankets and chairs and get comfortable while you watch the movie on our state-of-the-art, outdoor movie screen.

Mondays will get a whole lot better when you join us for Lunch on the Lawn presented by Casper College. This year, Lunch on the Lawn takes an interactive approach to get the whole family involved. On June 10th, the Natrona County Public Library BookMobile will be on site for story time and activities centered around exploring geography. Pack a lunch or purchase $6 and $10 options from Grab and Go Gourmet during the lunch hour. Also new to David Street Station are Wellness Wednesdays with the YMCA. Wellness classes offered throughout the day will help you and your family stay active when you aren’t running through the splash pad.

As if the first two weeks aren’t going to be fun enough, join us on June 15th, for the Downtown Hoedown, the first summer festival of the season and a pre-party for the College National Finals Rodeo championships. Ten Sleep, Wyoming songstress, Lacy Nelson, will kick off the festivities, which will also include a mechanical bull, food trucks, and beer available for purchase. Rounding out the event, and back by popular demand, the Jake Maurer Band will fill the Station with the sweet sounds of Nashville.
